Reds10 is delighted to announce that it has been appointed to the Department for Education’s (DfE) £3 billion off-site schools framework, which will run for four years and deliver its next generation of off-site schools across England.
The framework supports a wider government move towards modern methods of construction (MMC) as a preference for new build projects and reinforces the desire of the DfE to continue the commitment to MMC for education projects.
The programme is divided into two lots each defined by the size of the project. Reds10 has been appointed to deliver on Lot 2, worth £1 billion, which will include primary school schemes and secondary blocks with an internal area of 750 sq m to 6,000 sq m. Lot 1, which is worth £2bn, will cover secondary schools and blocks across England with an internal area of more than 6,000 sq m.
Paul Ruddick, Director at Reds10, said:
“We are leading the field in MMC, proving that it can deliver quality and efficiency in spaces that are inspiring, uplifting and enable a better education for generations to come, which is precisely what the education sector needs. We are passionate advocates of its benefits and fully supportive of the DfE’s commitment to deliver projects this way. We’re excited to get started, contributing to a programme that is set to see around 120 offsite schools built in the next four years.”
