Project Spotlight: Stone Lodge School

Stone Lodge, in Dartford, is the third school to be opened by Endeavour MAT, a Trust set up to help local schools collaborate effectively and share resources, administration and specialist managerial skills and best teaching practice. The Endeavour MAT mission is to allow students to find their own path to success.

While Stone Lodge School develops a brand new, modern, state-of-the-art campus, set to house over 1,000 local children, there was a need for temporary accommodation for the first cohort of students starting in September 2019.

Working alongside Ridge Consultants and Department of Education, Reds10 delivered a 1,000m2 two-storey modular block, including classrooms, ICT rooms, Science rooms and other ancillary spaces, alongside extensive external works and play area.

Reds10 were able to deliver the building within ambitious timelines, despite a complex pre-construction period, which included:

• A 4-week ‘ecology period’ to remove protected species from site, during which no intrusive works or surveys could be carried out
• Agreement to defer section 278 works as part of planning conditions
• Significant archaeology works to determine the site had no historical remains
