Farley Hill Primary School is a brand new facility, funded as part of key developments in four major new communities at Arborfield, Shinfield and North and South Wokingham, which included investment of £98m in new schools.
The 420-place school, which has both the infrastructure and planning permission in place to expand to 630 if required in later years, contains generous classrooms, specialist areas for design and food technology, PE and dance, and provides the latest digital teaching tools such as interactive teaching screens and sound systems.
The site also includes a nursery and the community facilities include a 3G FIFA certified all-weather sports pitch and pavillion, for use outside of school hours.
The 2,550 m2 school was built offsite in our East Yorkshire factory, with its 84 units up to 70% complete before travelling to site. The offsite construction process helps the council towards its goal of making Wokingham a carbon neutral borough by 2030, an initiative, which we’ve been proudly involved with through several of our projects, including Dinton Activity Centre (the council’s first net zero asset) and the award-winning Addington School.
"Wokingham Borough Council enjoyed Reds10’s innovative and collaborative approach to the delivery of Farley Hill Primary School. Reds10 pushed the boundaries of what was possible with the use of modern methods of construction and in doing so delivered the building in record time to ensure it was ready for the new school term. We look forward to working with them on future projects!"
