Reds10 were required to:
The dormant site was located in the heart of Hackney with neighbours directly overlooking the existing site. The close proximity of the neighbours challenged the design team to develop a building whilst not impeding on the neighbours’ Right to Light. The challenge was exacerbated by clients’ spatial requirements and the strict timeframe.
Reds10 provided a consultancy-led approach to oversee all Stage 1 design and planning activities. A Planning Consultant and Right to Light Surveyor were appointed to further assist with public consultation. Reds10 also took the scheme through a PPA process, allowing the designers to tailor the proposed development to the Council’s aspirations, so reducing the risk when it came to Planning Approval. Once approval was granted, the construction team continued to liaise with neighbours and were credited a ‘Very Good’ score by the Construction Safety Scheme.
‘Reds10 have been an excellent project delivery partner on Audrey Street. They have worked collaboratively with the London Borough of Hackney, City of London Academy and Local Education Partnership (LEP) to successfully take the Project from Feasibility Stage, through to obtaining Planning consent and delivery on site. I have no hesitation in recommending Reds10 for future projects.’
