Last week, Reds10 proudly joined social mobility charity The Talent Foundry (TTF)’s annual cycle challenge as Gold Sponsors. The cycle is the charity's flagship fundraising event, with participants cycling for several days to raise money to tackle the barriers to social mobility.
The Talent Foundry is an education charity that works with some of the most underserved schools in the country, helping young people from low-socio-economic backgrounds achieve their full potential. The annual cycle challenge is the charity's flagship fundraising event, with participants cycling for several days to raise money to tackle the barriers to social mobility.
Tom Hook (PM Lead – Defence & Associate Director), Joe Shepherd (Education Sector Lead & Director) and Paul Ruddick (Chairman) joined a group of passionate cyclists to cycle 178 miles in three days, from Vienna to Budapest, to raise money to level the playing field and open doors of opportunity for thousands of young people in underserved communities across the UK.
The cyclists followed the Danube River to Slovakia, passing through picturesque farmlands and small villages, before reaching the limestone landscape of the Geresce Mountains and descending into the pearl of the Danube, Budapest.
Don't be fooled by the finish line photos, the team encountered horrendous weather as they made the journey across the Danube and three nations.
“Reds10's passion to equip all society to live, learn and thrive in amazing spaces, alongside our commitment to making a positive impact in our communities and making our society better, particularly through investing in the future generations, aligns perfectly with TTF’s mission to enable young people to think big about their futures and offer skills development opportunities.”
Paul Ruddick, Chairman, Reds10
“Improving social mobility is a team effort, and we’re delighted that Reds10 has joined us to transform the lives of young people across the UK. We see talent every day in the schools that we work in, and funds raised by the team will support the development of our programmes to engage and connect young people to exciting careers and a successful future. Thank you Reds10 for joining us on this epic adventure.”
