Reds10 shortlisted as finalists at Offsite Awards 2020

The entire Reds10 team were immensely pleased to have been shortlisted for 2020’s Offsite Awards in two categories:

  • Education project of the Year
  • Best Use of Volumetric Technology

The Offsite Construction Awards celebrate the offsite industry and promote the benefits of offsite construction as a modern, sustainable and streamlined method of construction, through rewarding outstanding examples of prefabrication and factory-based methods, products and systems

Celebrating amazing modular spaces is close to our heart – in fact, we have made it our mission.

We were lucky enough to have a number of excellent projects to pick from during the last year, but there was one project, which was a front runner.

Green Park Village Primary School

Green Park Village Primary School is the centerpiece for the community in Berkeley Group’s Green Park Village development in Reading. The project proves that the highest level of architectural integrity can be safeguarded and clients don’t need to choose between design aesthetic and modular technology. It is an excellent example of the versatility of off-site construction and the advancements in volumetric technology, alongside faster delivery, affordability and exceptional quality.

Project delivery highlights

  • 80% constructed offsite
  • Delivered cost predictability
  • Constructed 15% faster than allowed for by traditional construction
  • Demonstrated the benefit of integrating SMART technology to optimize operation in use
  • Highlighted the quality of manufacturing achievable, with excellent u values and air tightness at no extra cost
  • 99% of waste diverted from landfill
  • 16% improvement on building regulations
  • Energy performance that exceeds DfE standards and specifications

Paul Ruddick, CEO of Reds10, said:

“Using our experience, research & development and a passion for design, we were able to take a traditional architectural concept and make it suitable and indeed optimal for volumetric modular construction. The school proves modular schemes can be beautiful and create environments where people thrive.”

While we were not able to take home the trophy, we are proud to have been named as finalists. Congratulations to Tide Construction, Vision Modular Systems and B&K Structures.

See you next year! In the meantime, watch this space for more exciting projects.
