Project Spotlight: Upton-by-Chester High School Virtual Tour

Reds10 are proud to be able to share a virtual tour of the recently completed Upton-by-Chester High School with you. Thank you to everyone involved in this project, it was a great pleasure working with you all.

Project Details

We were invited to compete in a two-stage tender for a four-classroom extension. The building was originally designed for traditional construction, but cost and time constraints required a different approach and a fresh way of thinking.

We were successful in the tender thanks to our proactive approach to site visits and client liaison as well as the quality of our bid.

During stage two of the tender process we worked openly with the client team at Cheshire West & Chester Council and the School to come up with a design, which worked within the available footprint but used our modular designs and finishes to drive additional value.

The final product is a two-storey extension, providing the School with science rooms, office spaces, disabled WC and more. The ground floor is linked onto an existing science block via a new link corridor built in situ by Reds10.

Working against the backdrop of COVID-19 and inline with our Social Distancing measures, we completed the building in time for Year 10 pupils to start using it on their return to school in June.
