Reds10 welcome new Graduate Project Manager

We’re excited to have a Graduate Project Manager join our ranks. Perhaps you’ve had a chance to speak with Naomi Everett already, but if not, we grabbed a few minutes with her to talk about her background, her time with the team so far and what she sees in her future.

Welcome, Naomi. Why don’t we start with a little about your background?

Well, I’ve recently finished a BSc in Building Surveying at Kingston University, for which I received 1st class honours. Throughout the course I studied various parts of building pathology, historical buildings and conservation, construction technology and construction law. This is actually where my interest in modular construction first peaked.

Amazing work, well done! Dare we ask, did university leave you any time to start exploring your career options?

I did, in fact, manage to work part-time as an Assistant Building Surveyor for Bond Davidson (now Paragon Building Consultancy) alongside my degree. Mostly, the projects involved high end residential refurbishments. The role allowed me to start gathering practical experience in project monitoring, reporting, schedules of conditions, surveys and so on – ultimately, we were all working towards handing over high quality projects. I can already see how these skills will be useful at Reds10 too.

So, you finished university and you’re looking for your next career step. What attracted you to our role?

As I briefly touched on before, modular construction became a prospective career path to me when we started to study the sustainability and economic benefits of it at university. The quick turnaround time of modular construction means I can get involved in more projects within a shorter time span, which I think will be really useful at this point in my career. Having researched the company background, I was impressed with the growth and project delivery you had achieved within the past several years, as well as the appeal of working for a family-run business.

Tell us more about the specifics of your role.

Ultimately, I will be responsible for managing the full project lifecycle from inception to completion and handover. I’ll be able to work on a range of projects, allowing me to improve both my construction knowledge and project management skills. All of this will be crucial for me, as I hope to complete my APC to become chartered in the upcoming years.

Great to hear your plans for the future, we’re looking forward to working with you towards achieving them. And so far? How has everything been?

Everyone has been incredibly welcoming, and I already feel like a valued part of the team. I’ve managed to get stuck into projects straight away and am looking forward to getting involved in more projects as my career progresses.

Excellent! Welcome to the Reds10 team, Naomi!

Thank you for having me, I’m looking forward to what lies ahead.

Ready to discuss your next project?
