Reds10 welcome new Project Manager

At the end of May, the team are excited to have a new addition to our client-facing project management team. We caught up with Andrea Giovagnoli to talk about his background, experience, his time with the team so far and what he sees in his future.

Andrea, let’s start with a little about your background.

Of course. I’m Italian, originally from Rimini – the home of Federico Fellini, food and the heart of summer. A sort of Brighton of the Adriatic Coast, shall we say ???? I have a Scientific Studies Diploma from Rimini and a BSC in Building Engineering from the University of Bologna. I also hold SMSTS, First Aid and Fire Marshall qualifications and I am a proud LesMills Fitness Instructor in my spare time. I landed in London in 2015.

Wow, what a busy person you are!

Yes, though I believe in a nice work-life balance, I think it’s important to keep fit and exercise is a great way to reduce stress and ultimately being more productive at work. I am Advanced Instructor in BodyAttack, BodyStep and CXWORX (Core) classes all over London, I was even elected Instructor of the Year 2018 at Nuffield, Covent Garden. If you’re interested to join me!

We may just take you up on that! Now, how about your professional background, any highlights there?

Although I started my working life in events, followed by hospitality and retail to raise my knowledge of the language, I didn’t think this was the career path for me. However, definitely count me in for organising company events because I really enjoy it! Following the decision to move to the construction industry, I managed to secure a position as Assistant Project Manager for Crest Lifts (they’re a small lift company), followed by an Assistant Site Manager role for Galliard Homes. This is where the construction industry bug really bit me (my degree in Engineering helped a lot and I will always say a big Thank you to my family for the support).

So, you were looking for a new role and we caught your eye. Was there something specific that attracted you to the company?

Absolutely. I was particularly impressed by the potential for career growth and personal training that the company offers, coupled by the opportunity to be a valued member of the team, gaining hands on experience straight away. I’ve only been with the team a few weeks, but I’m already involved in the site organisation process, client meetings, design reviews etc. In the right capacity and with the right Senior team members, of course.

Sounds like you’re enjoying it so far?

Oh yes, the role is challenging me just in the right way. It’s an opportunity to continue learning on the job. The team are fantastic, and I know I can ask for help from any of them at any time. I’m currently deep into getting to know each client, project and supplier, as well as the whole production process from start to finish, which is very exciting.

That’s great to hear, thanks Andrea. And welcome again to the team, we’re excited to have you join us!

No problem at all. Thanks to the whole company for believing in me and what I can bring to the team, I am looking forward to making you all proud.
