Church of England Academy
Project Details
Based in Stotfold, Bedfordshire and enjoying a heritage of providing education according to the principles of the Church of England, thanks to links to St Mary's Church, the Academy had reached a point of capacity. Further teaching and recreational spaces were required to cater for the ever-expanding roll of pupils from the surrounding areas.
Reds10 were appointed on a Design and Build Contract, managing the project through all of its stages, from planning to completion. Having just one point of contact throughout the process, meant that the relevant staff at St Mary’s Church of England Academy were kept fully up to date at key milestones and were able to focus their attention on finishing the school year.
Over the course of the project, Reds10 were able to provide St Mary’s with a new two-storey teaching block, as well as an extension and full internal refurbishment of the existing School Hall over the course of 3 months. Thanks to the use of a timber frame construction, with a brick slip and rocklad external finish, the new teaching block is not only functional and cost-effective; it also fits right in with the look and feel of the rest of the Academy’s existing buildings.
