Project Details
Based in Toddington, Bedfordshire Parkfields is a middle school catering for 450 9 to 13 year olds. Parkfields’ aim is to provide a stimulating environment for their pupils, placing particular emphasis on high standards of self-discipline and mutual respect. Through excellent relationships with their feeder schools, extensive extra-curricular programme and an excellent pastoral care system, the school has become a popular choice for local pupils. As such, it came time for the school to extend its premises in order to continue providing opportunities for pupils to excel in their purpose-built facilities.
Reds10 have been appointed to provide a new permanent building, using modular construction methods. The new 300m2 SEN exclusion block has been clad with brick slips to give a traditional brick effect finish, in order to match the existing school building, which it sits alongside.
The on-site fit out period took only 6 weeks in total, providing the school with a fully-functioning SEN exclusion block with enhanced internal finishes such as vision panels for each classroom for additional passive supervision of pupils by the school’s staff an increased acoustic rated walls and ceilings to minimise sound transfer between rooms.
"Thank you for taking the time to join us to officially open our new build. Thank you and all your team for your commitment to Parkfields. You have definitely made a difference."
