Project Details
Situated over two sites in Dunstable and Houghton Regis, the Chiltern School caters for pupils aged 3 to 19, specifically providing personalised learning opportunities for a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). As such, any additional space or redevelopments must cater to a range of particular needs and specifications and the senior management team were looking for a team that fully understands these needs throughout the course of any project.
Reds10 were awarded a design and build contract, taking the scheme from concept stage, through to planning and completion, drawing on their previous experience in similar projects and thus allowing the staff and pupils to concentrate on their day-to-day tasks.
A modular six classroom extension block was manufactured off-site, dropped into position and fitted out over a six week period, thus keeping any disruption to the running of the school and its personalised programs to a minimum and providing staff and pupils with a fully functional space available to use immediately.
