Designing and Delivering Smarter through AI

The architecture, engineering, and construction industry is undergoing a profound transformation, driven by the rapid advancement of AI. At Reds10, At Reds10, we have long championed the integration of digital tools to enhance the built environment. Our vertically integrated model and commitment to innovation have enabled us to embed AI across our design, manufacturing, and delivery processes, unlocking smarter, faster, and more creative ways of building.

Unlocking AI to Design and Build Better

Over the past few years, Reds10 has been integrating AI into our workflows as a strategic enabler. From conceptual massing to detailed material studies, AI allows our teams to iterate rapidly, explore broader design possibilities, and make better-informed decisions. As a result, we have seen enhanced collaboration between designers, clients, and end-users, and ultimately more efficient delivery of environments that better serve their purpose.

We have seen similar enthusiasm from forward-thinking practices like Noviun Architects, who have embraced AI as a creative partner in their design process. Their work has helped demonstrate how AI-generated imagery and automation can enrich design dialogue and accelerate decision-making. Like Noviun, we believe that Collaborations like these reinforce and augment our own human capabilities.

Furthermore, because we manage design in-house, we have full control over the accuracy, structure, and ownership of our data. This is critical. AI is only as powerful as the data it learns from, and our ability to standardise and refine that data continuously is what makes our approach so effective.

We are already seeing remarkable results. For example, AI is helping us optimise cladding design, reducing what used to be an 8–10 week process to just minutes. Tools like Autodesk Forma allow us to explore multiple planning options and generate optimised layouts based on rule sets, paving the way for smarter, more coordinated designs.

Another advantage has been leveraging LOD 500 models within Autodesk Construction Cloud, not only for visualisation, but also as machine-readable assets that can be interpreted directly by CNC machines. This enables automation in fabrication and prefabrication, improving precision and reducing waste.

On-site, AI-powered 360-degree cameras like OpenSpace are transforming how we document and analyse progress. These tools automatically capture and compare site conditions over time, enhancing quality assurance and streamlining reporting.

A Digital Strategy That Connects Everything

Our digital strategy spans the entire business, from design and quality to HR, finance, and marketing. All our data is being structured and stored in scalable systems like Microsoft and Amazon, creating a connected ecosystem that supports future growth. We are already implementing the kind of data flows and API integrations that others in the industry are just beginning to explore. This was prevalent at events we have attended like Autodesk’s DevCon in Amsterdam, where our approach aligned closely with emerging best practices.

This holistic approach means we are not only future proofing our operations but also building a foundation for scalable success. By eliminating duplication, improving project management, and enhancing factory quality, we are setting ourselves up to harness AI in ways that are meaningful and measurable.

The Power of Vertical Integration

What sets Reds10 apart is our vertically integrated model. Traditionally, digital transformation might sit within an IT team focused on support services. At Reds10, it is embedded across every layer, from site teams to support services, allowing us to connect data, automate processes, and scale innovation across the board.

This integration is what enables us to experiment boldly and implement AI responsibly. It is also why we are able to collaborate effectively with software providers and partners, ensuring our systems are open, interoperable, and ready for the future.

We believe the potential of AI in construction is enormous and truly transformational. However, real progress depends on standardisation, industrialisation, and a willingness to rethink traditional models. At Reds10, we are already seeing how AI can boost productivity, enhance creativity, and deliver better outcomes for our clients.
