This May, two teams made up of colleagues from across the business took part in the 2023 Construction Industry Dragon Boat Challenge, raising vital funds for CRASH.
Dragon boat racing has an ancient Chinese history dating back 2,000 years with the Construction Industry event, organised by New Wave Events, returning for its 23rd year. The day was an amazing opportunity not only to raise funds for CRASH but also for invaluable team bonding for each of the companies taking part.
Our team, The Red Rockets, finished fifth out of 39 teams and won the fastest platinum sponsor award. Well done, everyone!

Just two weeks later, Steve Randall and Matt Bennion from our London office and Karan Limbu, Simon Gurung and Sudip Gurung from our Slough office took on Ford RideLondon-Essex 100.
A celebration of cycling, the event is ideal for those seeking a tough but achievable challenge. The spectacular event saw cyclists of all backgrounds and abilities cover 100 miles on traffic-free roads through the heart of London and neighbouring Essex.
The team are just £500 away from their target at the time of writing, so if you would like to help them reach it and donate to a deserved cause, visit the official Justgiving page here.
Joe Whiteley, Social Value Lead, said:
“Supporting CRASH through these fundraising endeavours allows us to directly contribute to a cause that resonates deeply with the construction industry and Reds10. CRASH has been instrumental in providing practical and essential support to those experiencing homelessness, offering them hope, and transforming their lives through the power of shelter and construction. By raising funds, we enable CRASH to continue their invaluable work, creating lasting impacts in our communities. These events provide a unique opportunity for us to come together as a community, transcending our individual roles and backgrounds, united in a shared purpose. By participating in these challenges, we not only foster a sense of camaraderie and teamwork but also demonstrate our commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others.”
Lucie Gillard, Partnership and Fundraising Manager at CRASH, said:
‘’We are so grateful for the commitment and enthusiasm of Reds10 in supporting our work with homelessness charities and hospices. Whether it’s getting practically involved in CRASH construction projects, cycling 100 miles or paddling as fast as they can in a dragon boat – Reds10 care about making a difference. As a Corporate Patron, Reds10 underpin every project CRASH undertakes, and on behalf of the CRASH team and the people we are here to help, a sincere thank you!’’
CRASH has been the UK construction industry’s social impact partner for over 25 years. They unite the power of the industry to do good by channelling their professional expertise, construction products and fundraising to build places that care for the sick, vulnerable and homeless in the communities we work and live. Our work demonstrates how the construction industry and the charitable sector can build more caring societies.
Reds10 is proud to be one of CRASH's Patrons, each of us doing what we can to propel their cause and give back to the industry we love.
