Due to continued and robust growth, we are looking for an Operations Lead - Education Sector, helping to deliver our amazing education spaces on time and on budget.

The Role

As an Operations Lead, you will:

  • Ensure the highest Health and Safety standards on site and exercise the stop work authority where safety standards are compromised
  • Have full oversight of a portfolio of projects at one time, ensuring sites and operations on those sites are managed in an effective and safe way while adhering to all CDM regulations.
  • Ensure all sites within the portfolio have the right resources, support and supply chain to achieve their objectives of being on time, on budget, to the required quality and Health and Safety standards.
  • Be accountable for the wellbeing, engagement and management of all site teams within the portfolio.
  • Be based in our London office (details below) but will travel extensively to the site you are responsible for at any given time.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support Operations Director with department plan and targets
  • Support Commercial Director with delivery of commercial plans and targets
  • Look at portfolio and continuously improve it in terms of it’s commercials
  • Develop Construction Phase Plan (CPP) to ensure each project is designed to be delivered in the best way possible
  • Manage site teams to ensure they are adapting CPP as necessary and that projects are closed on target
  • Engage at precon stage with all relevant parties to ensure the projects start with the best programme, resources and supply chain
  • Ensure portfolio compliance with all our delivery systems
  • Challenge the status quo, be an agitator of change, coming up with new ways of working and make them into SOPs

Ensure the site teams are performing the duties below on all sites:

  • Demonstrate great Health & Safety stewardship, leading Reds10 Health and Safety agenda on site
  • Oversee onsite construction, establishing and managing the construction programme and ensuring compliance with building and safety regulations
  • Overall responsibility for management, coordination and supervision of sub-contractors
  • Set up H&S procedures and manage site HSE processes and performance
  • First point of contact for all site management issues; point of escalation as required
  • Develop and manage testing, commissioning and inspection programme
  • Manage soft landings plan
  • Set up sample and control panels and quality control procedures and ensure they are followed at all times
  • Programming sub-contractor requirements in order to ensure the site is adequately resourced at all times, and programmes are updated and met. 
  • Ensure daily safety inspections take place and that any issues raised are resolved as soon as possible
  • Solve problems in a timely fashion
  • Source materials as required
  • Monitor and report regularly to the Operations Manager on the progress of a project including regular programme updates
  • Identify potential issues before they arise and flag to the Operations Manager
  • Keep the site team motivated and focussed
  • Demonstrate great Health & Safety stewardship, leading Reds10 Health and Safety agenda on site
  • Use BIM models for information, discussing the model with the team to inform  consequent execution of work. 
  • Use BIM platforms to ensure all team members are working from the correct drawings and to share amendments with the Design Team. 

Accountabilities

  • Accountable for the performance of their portfolio of projects in terms of time, cost, quality, safety standards and client satisfaction
  • Accountable for the integration between the site and the factory for the entire portfolio, reporting to the teams involved with regards to any lessons learnt.
  • Accountable for the project teams people management including staff retention, wellbeing and development.
  • Accountable for the delivery of the agreed profitability for the portfolio of projects in their remit.
  • Accountable for the social value and operational carbon reduction targets for the portfolio of projects managed
  • Work with the supply chain, ensuring all sites are properly resourced, safety standards are met and the programme targets are met.
  • Ensure programmes are properly resourced to meet the production targets
  • Fully contribute at the LT level and help shape and carry forward the LT agend
  • Ensure customers get the full benefit of Reds10’s offsite construction solutions

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in effectively driving multiple programmes, manage the flows and the CPs
  • Commercially astute and able to advise project team on the contract and all subcontracts
  • IOSH/NEBOSH
  • SMSTS, First Aid
  • Temp Works Coordinator
  • CSCS Black Manager card
  • MCIOB a plus
  • Modular experience a plus
  • Full knowledge of either MS Project or Asta Powerproject (or both)
  • Inspirational leader
